2. Place the barbell eyes on top of the hook about an 1/8″ behind the eye of the hook and tie off to secure. Wrap the thread down the shaft of the hook again, leaving the thread bobbin close to the bend of the hook.

3. Prepare 5-6 grizzly hackles by trimming an inch or two off of the hackle and stripping enough feather off of the hackle shaft to tie onto the hook.

4. Place 2 grizzly hackles on each lateral side of the fly, near the bend of the hook and tie off with your thread.

5. Place an additional grizzly hackle near the bend of the hook and tie off.

6. Place one end of the chinelle near the bend of the hook and tie off.

7. Wrap the chinelle forward around the hook shaft, over the barbell eyes and tie off just behind the eye of the hook.

8. Wrap the additional grizzly hackle (step 5) forward around the hook shaft, over the barbell eyes and tie off just behind the eye of the hook.

9. Trim the grizzly hackle to a desired body size.

10. Coat the exposed threads near the eye of the hook with a hardener such as nail polish or epoxy.
