As I begin my term of this wonderful club, my first order of business is to thank Robby, Joe, Jerry, Lou and Dave for their unselfish contributions that has brought this the club to the present. Without them and those who came before them we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Looking to the future, the board and I can not do it alone. We have had many people step forward to assist and I know this will continue. We all benefit as many hands make light work.
This year we are having several speakers: the American Littoral Society on fish tagging and migration, Member John Gillis with beach fishing locations, timing and structure, Tom Lynch on his fish photography( we all want good fish pictures), Andrew Moy from Tight Lines Fly Fishing will give a demonstration and instruction (on the beach) using two handed rods, and New Jersey Beach Buggy association on driving the beach. The search for more speakers will continue.
Activities start with the Fly Fishing booth at the Fly Fishing Show, then the Annual dinner, the George Cook memorial Mandarin Snapper Tournament, the Delaware river weekend, Cape Cod Trip, kayak safety and dunking at Sandy Hook, fishing trip for the Veterans and one for the members, the Kids Kamp on Sandy Hook, the club picnic and then the fall fishing outing.
As we always do, we will have tying meetings on the 4th Wednesday, and fishing, when it breaks loose, in the 4th week on the month.
The board wants to thank the members for all the encouragement that’s been offered.
Tight Lines,
Tom Melville
President
